DWIBHASHYAM NAGESHBABU,
son of late Butchaiah Pantulu and Smt. Subbalakshmi, was born on 29th July,1957 in Ramachandrapuram of East Godavari District,AndhraPradesh. Hailing from a lineage of music lovers and pioneers of Ayurveda ( Chintaluru),the prodigy was enthralled by the captivating music of Veena Maestro Dr.Chittibabu even as a boy, and thus he became the votary of Dr.Chittibabu.

His obsession for veena ushered him into a “Deeksha” with which he adored the Maestro as an “EKA LAVYA” and dedicated himself to the veena of Chittibabu “GHARANA”

At college, the adolescent virtuoso was spotted by his teacher Sri M.V.Krishnaiah who initiated him into the classical Carnatic Music which was later perfected by guru Sri T.V.Subbaraya Sastry. Impressed by Nageshbabu’s genre of Veena recital at a concert in Ramachandrapuram , his mentor Sri Chittibabu fondly inducted him into his legion of disciples. In no time, he became the ‘Priya Sishya” of his guru by dint of his dazzling dexterity.

Nageshbabu’s debut sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ramachandrapuram in 1985 marked the first sojourn to the pinnacle and has passed many a milestone since then. His fleeting fingers along the frets of the Veena producing lilting melodies with élan are a feast to the eyes and the ears as well. Accolades from ardent lovers of music from far and wide stood him into a Vainika-par-excellence.The ‘Sabhas’ felicitated, the ‘Rasikas’ honoured and the holy men showered their blessings on him in appreciation of his Vidwat, admiration of sonority and approval of his humility. His Holiness Jayendra Saraswati of Kanchipuram, Dayananda Saraswati of Rishikesh,Paripurnananda of Kaikinada, Brahmasri Sivananda Murty of Bhimili, Meher Chaitanyaji Maharaj of Tapeswaram and Dr. Nistala Prahlada Sastry of Devipuram have conferred their blessings on him for a splendid career.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Accompanied his guru Sri Chittibabu on Veena in an audio cassette :"THE BELLS OF JOY”
Participated in “ELEMENTS AND MANKIND” composed and directed by his guru Sri Chittibabu for London Ballet.
Accompanied Dr.Chittibabu in Veena recital programmes telecast on the National Net Work of Doordarshan and Sun-T.V. International Net Work.

శాస్త్రీయ సంగీతం భగవద్దత్తమైంది. మన సంప్రదాయానికి, సంస్కృతికి చిహ్నం. దాన్ని భగవంతుని పూజించినంత భక్తిభావంతో, శ్రద్ధగా అభ్యసించాలి. ఎంత ప్రావీణ్యమున్నా- అలంకారాలు, స్వరజతులు వంటి ప్రాధమిక అంశాలు నిత్య సాధన చేయాలన్నది నగేష్ విశ్వాసం.

The Hindu - Veena maestro Chittibabu

Chittibabu Jayanthi celebrated.

Veena maestro Chittibabu's jayanthi was celebrated jointly by two music sabhas –Saptaswara and Nadabharati – by organising a veena concert of his ardent disciple Dwibhashyam Nageshbabu at Swathi Hall, DD Colony, before a gathering of musicians.

Nagesh opened with a brisk Sarasa Samadana' in Kapinarayani marked by good swarakalpana. His play of Ananda Bhairavi was elegant. Syamasastry's Marivere' was his choice number in this. Nagesh then played Navarasakannada for Ninuvina Namadendu' frequently played by Chittibabu. Deekshitar's Koumari Gowri' in Gowrimanohari and Brochevarevarura' in khamas were pleasing kirtana presentations, before he took up raga Lalitha for expansion. His play was typical of his guru including the way he gave some Hindustani touches here and there. The choice composition in this was the composition of Chittibabu's grand father Saraswathi' set in Rupaka Talam. swaraprasthara kriti Jagadodharana' The final pieces included Chittibabu's famous light number Kommalo koyila' in Mand, a Western tune and Adevu Padevu' in Sindhubhairavi. P.Srinivas Gopalan on mridangam and T.P.Balu on Ghatam contributed to the general appeal of the concert. The tani in the main number by the percussionists was laudable.
